My rambles, thoughts, and developments, for everything to do with web development
Categories: General, 314 wordsSend feedback •I am finding more and more each day, that I simply do not have enough time to meet everyone’s needs.
My open-source work is developed for free, and because of this, I have to push it back time after time to make way for work that does pay the bills. And because I am usually (if not always) the sole contributor to my projects, this causes them to be put on hold for durations that no one really likes.
If you would like to see a feature, bug fix, or anything done with a project, you can make a donation. As I have to put back unpaid work to make way for paid work, this provides an opportunity for me to make time for the unpaid project, equal to the amount donated.
If you like me, my work, or one or more projects and would like to see them continue, then sponsorship is a good way. This can be done in the form of advertising in my work, the type and costs is of course negotiable.
If you have some skills and want to help out, then contributing would be a nice choice. I am always after interface developers/designers that have experience with jQuery (takes about a day to learn if not), CSS/XHTML, and some Object Orientated PHP knowledge (Eg. what does $this->dosomething(’do?’)).
If you have a blog, or even a mouth! then you can help by word of mouth. You would not believe how much a simple post on your blog about a project or developer helps.
Or if you have people skills and a lot of time to burn, you can always offer support for my work.
So if you think you can help out in any of the above ways, or even a different way, please send me a email at balupton@gmail.com. Thank you.
